There are so many new recipes and cooking shows amidst the bookstores and interwebs these days.
But I don’t want anything new.
( I still like thingamabobs and thingamajigs, I just need a breather )
Therefore, I’m heading down memory lane and going back to my roots.
My roots meaning breakfast toast.
( Elvis just happened to slip in through the film, Lilo & Stitch. )
I have quite a few recipes regarding breakfast that you’ve probably seen that are tasty, delicious…and take time to make.
But sometimes simplicity is nice.
Let me rephrase that.
Toast is nice. This took maybe five minutes tops?
And tasted amazing.
Elvis toast qualifies as drool worthy.
- 1 p. whole wheat bread
- 4 tsp. coconut oil
- 3 Tbs. peanut butter
- ½ ripe, sliced, banana
- A handful chocolate stevia chips
- Spread coconut oil on both sides of your bread. Set your oven to 550 F on the broil setting.
- Place your toast on the oven rack and broil until the coconut oil has turned a golden brown.
- Take yo’ toast out of the oven and reduce the heat to 350 F on the bake setting.
- Spread the peanut butter on your toast along with the sliced banana and sprinkle of stevia chips. Stick the toast back in the oven for a grand total of however long it takes for the chips to melt.
Much Love,
Katherine Marie
My Bible Verse For Today:
“However, when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.”
John 16:13
